Beyond the Frame

In The Truman Show, Jim Carrey's character lived inside a world where nothing was real. Every person in his life was performing a role. He was the only one who did not know.

I have been thinking about how much of the world we now inhabit can feel like that.

The platforms have been constructed. Real and performed have become impossible to tell apart. Something is shifting. The performative culture and economy is beginning to feel hollow. People are tired of polished identities and surface engagement.

That is not a social media problem. It is a leadership problem. A business problem. A human one.

Certainty becomes a performance because the set demands it. Until we realize we had the wrong frame.

What was real had been there all along. The lived experience. The instinct. The willingness to stay with what does not yet fit. Most of us learned to conceal those parts because they did not belong within the frame. Eventually, we discover they are the very thing that allows us to see beyond it.

In The Truman Show, freedom began when Truman recognized the set for what it was.
